Firing the Imagination

Internationally known for her organic modernist ceramic works, Eva Zeisel is truly one of the foremost designers of the Twentieth Century and with a career spanning into the Twenty First Century her remarkable life has led her from Hungary through Germany and the embryo Soviet Russia to residence in the USA.

The first designer in America to produce an all white service, which was acknowledged by a special exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1946. Honours have followed from the Royal College of Art in London, Pratt Legends Award and Russell Wright Award. This remarkable career continues into her Ninety Seventh year with the return to her original 1952 Classic & Century shapes produced in fine English earthenware.
