A Christmas pottery gift guide

As the festive season approaches, it’s time to start planning for the hustle and bustle ahead. Maybe you’re looking for a special present for a pottery-loving family member or friend and want to find a piece that you know is produced using the traditional techniques perfected by Staffordshire craftsmen and craftswomen over generations.  Perhaps you’re already thinking about how to add a few finishing touches to your dining table.

That’s why we’ve put together some tips and inspiration in our Christmas pottery gift guide.

Christmas presents for pottery lovers

Snowy scenes and depictions of a traditional family Christmas feature on our classic creamware mugs, which make an ideal present for the tea or coffee drinker in your life.

Not only that but taking the time to enjoy a warm cup of something – and we’re not judging if you slip in something extra warming – is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit on Christmas morning while easing yourself into the rest of the day. We also produce Christmas pottery plates and Christmas pottery dishes.

Traditional scenes of Christmas

Much of our Christmas themed pottery tells a story, featuring scenes of snow, holly and traditional decorations. In fact, our original festive range was launched nearly two decades ago, with a classic Christmas Homes design that now can be found on mugs, plates and cereal bowls.

Over the years, we’ve added to the collection to include depictions of a village at Christmas, a Christmas Eve and Christmas morning scene, an ice skater and carol singers. At the heart of the tale is still the first Christmas Home, in the middle of our imagined village, and where friends and family gather to spend time together. We’ll raise a glass to that.

Creating the perfect Christmas table

Our pottery is the perfect complement to a Christmas dining table. Side plates and bowls can be used to serve starters or desserts, while our dinner plates are just the thing for turkey and all the trimmings.

Alternatively, we also produce a set of contemporary designs with pheasants, stags and hares – which create a striking, modern look.

Royal Stafford’s Christmas collection can be found online or in our Factory Shop up until December 22. Our Ceramic Café also provides an opportunity to decorate your own personalised piece of pottery at one of our Christmas-themed workshops. Visit the shop during our opening times of Monday-Saturday, 9.30am-5pm, or to book a place at one of our Ceramic Café workshops simply call 01782 525419.
